Feel More Rested,
Energised,
and Resourced to
Enjoy Life
A hyperbaric session is a gentle, non-invasive wellness service designed to support your mind and body in a guided, personalised approach at Restore Body & Mind Studio.
“After trying physio, acupuncture, massage and PRP injections for knee and shoulder injuries they were still causing me discomfort and limiting my ability to sleep and exercise. I had heard good things about Hyperbaric Oxygen therapy and healing. At first, I had some fears about getting into the chamber but knew I was in safe hands with Anthea. I now really enjoy the sessions — I just relax and read a book knowing my injuries are healing. I always feel better after a session and walk away feeling relaxed and refreshed. My knee injury has improved to the point that I now have no pain and my shoulder injury symptoms have diminished.”

The Service
What is Hyperbaric
Oxygen?
A session in a hyperbaric chamber involves breathing oxygen in a pressurised chamber while you relax.
This greatly increased oxygen availability is designed to support your body’s natural recovery processes.
At Restore Body & Mind Studio, it is offered in a calm, guided environment so your session is stress-free from start to finish.

Restore Body & Mind Studio uses a high-pressure 2.0 ATA Hyperbaric Oxygen chamber, while many mild hyperbaric chambers are limited to a maximum of 1.5 ATA.
This higher-pressure environment is designed to support greater oxygen availability, which may help support recovery, energy, healing, resilience, and overall wellbeing more effectively than lower-pressure systems.

Frequently Asked Questions
Hyperbaric Oxygen is generally very well tolerated when delivered in a controlled and guided environment. Before your session, we take you through a screening process and explain everything clearly so you feel informed, comfortable, and supported throughout.
The most common sensation people notice is temporary ear pressure, similar to what you may feel when flying or changing elevation. You’ll be guided through simple techniques to ease it quickly during the session.
Some people may feel deeply relaxed or tired afterwards, while others notice increased energy or mental clarity. Mild temporary changes in vision can occasionally occur over time with repeated sessions, but this is uncommon and typically resolves.
Your comfort and safety are prioritised throughout the entire experience.
We use a high-pressure 2.0 ATA Hyperbaric Oxygen chamber, which is the level most commonly used in clinical research and has the strongest body of evidence behind it.
This higher-pressure environment is designed to create greater oxygen saturation in the body to help support your body’s natural recovery and repair processes.
Many mild hyperbaric chambers are typically limited to around 1.5 ATA, which provides a lower level of pressure and oxygen availability in comparison.
You can gently equalise your ears by swallowing, yawning, or lightly blowing with your nose pinched closed (Valsalva manoeuvre).
We’ll guide you through this during your session, and the chamber can be paused if you need more time to adjust. If equalising isn’t comfortable, we won’t continue the session — your comfort always comes first.
It’s really important that you wear as close to pure cotton or wool as possible. Avoid synthetic or blended fabrics due to fire safety considerations in the chamber environment.
Please also avoid heavy lotions, oils, perfumes, or sprays before your session. For safety reasons, jewellery, electronic devices, watches, and unnecessary personal items are not taken into the chamber.
Session lengths can vary depending on your goals and where you are in the process. Most people choose either a 60-minute or 90-minute session.
If it’s your first session, we can begin more gently with a shorter session and lower pressure setting so you can comfortably settle into the experience and understand how the chamber feels.
This depends on your goals and how your body responds. Some people use Hyperbaric Oxygen as an occasional session for general wellbeing or recovery support, while others choose a more structured series over a shorter period to build consistency and cumulative support.
For those with specific recovery goals or more persistent concerns, sessions are sometimes scheduled more frequently in the early stages, then reduced over time as part of an ongoing maintenance routine.
We’re happy to guide you through what may suit your situation best, and can also work alongside your existing health practitioners if needed to support a coordinated approach.
Everyone responds differently.
Some people notice immediate effects after a session such as feeling deeply relaxed, mentally clearer, lighter in the body, or gently energised. Others don’t notice a strong “shift” straight away, but observe changes building more gradually over a series of sessions.
Your response can depend on your current energy levels, stress load, and what your body is working through at the time.
Yes, many people do. The environment is quiet, comfortable, and still, making it easy for your body to fully relax and switch off.
Testimonials
What Our Clients Have to Say
“I started Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy because I was going through an incredibly stressful period in my life and my mental health wasn’t great. I was struggling and was relying on medication, caffeine and nicotine to get through each day. I felt like I was stuck in survival mode. I’d heard good things about hyperbaric for helping with that.
After completing 10 sessions, I’ve noticed some pretty good changes. My sleep has improved, I feel calmer, and I’ve also noticed my cravings for nicotine and alcohol have gone right down. I was able to come off my medication with my doc’s support pretty quickly, which was a relief, as I didn’t like the side-effects. I also found the NeurOptimal® sessions really helped with my ability to focus more as I have ADHD.
I know everyone’s journey is different, but for me, Hyperbaric Oxygen and NeurOptimal® have been an important part of my recovery. I’m grateful to Anthea for creating such a calm space and for really caring about my wellbeing.”
Important Things to Know Before Your Session
To get the most comfortable and effective experience, it helps to arrive feeling well and settled.
Avoid caffeine for a few hours before your session, and alcohol in the days surrounding your appointment where possible — both can affect how your body responds.
If you have a cold, flu, fever, or sinus congestion, it’s best to reschedule, as pressure changes can feel uncomfortable when your ears or sinuses are blocked.
If you smoke, reducing or avoiding smoking before your session is beneficial, as it can impact how efficiently oxygen is utilised in the body.
If you have existing medical conditions or take medication, check with your healthcare practitioner before starting any new modality, just to ensure it’s appropriate for you.
